Borough Clerk

The Borough Clerk's Office serves as a central point of contact for residents.

The Borough Clerk is appointed by the Mayor and Council. The Clerk serves as the Secretary to the Governing Body, prepares the meeting agendas, records the minutes of Council meetings which are permanent documents, and processes resolutions and ordinances adopted by the Council in accordance with State statutes.

The Borough Clerk is the custodian of the municipal seal and maintains custody of all minutes, books, bonds, contracts, archival records of the municipality. The Clerk is the liaison between the public and the Governing Body and represents the Borough in relations with Federal, State and local government.

The following licenses are issued by the Borough Clerks office: limousine, towing, bingo, raffle and liquor. Organizations may apply at the Borough Clerk's office for bingo and raffle licenses, which must be approved by the Council and are subject to the rules and regulations of New Jersey's Legalized Games of Chance Control Commission. Liquor Licenses are issued through the Clerk's office annually, upon Council approval.

The Clerk is the Election Official for the Borough; provides voter registration applications, issues and receives nominating petitions for Borough elective offices, conducts local elections and certifies the results.

In addition to the statutory requirements of the position, the Clerk's office processes garage sale permits, dumpster permits, block party applications, soliciter's permits, and street opening permits. We also have forms for passport applications and renewals and we offer notorial services as well.
